Can money buy happiness?
I'm testing it. Publicly. With your money.
The premise
Strangers send money. I publish whether it made me happier. There is no lab, no control group, and no peer review — just a public ledger and my honest mood score, updated on a fixed schedule.
If money can't buy happiness, we'll find out together. If it can… I'll be sure to mention it.
How it works
- Send any amount. $1 minimum, whatever you like — a voluntary personal gift.
- Happiness reports get published. Same format every time: money in, happiness score, what it bought, one blunt reflection.
- We all find out together. The ledger stays public, the scores stay honest, and the question stays open.
Fund the findings
The Happiness Project is a personal creative project. It is NOT a charity, NOT a nonprofit, NOT academic research, and gifts are NOT tax-deductible. Anything you send is a voluntary personal gift, used for whatever the recipient chooses — bills, books, tacos. No outcome is guaranteed. No voluntary refunds are offered, except where required by law.
